Philippians 4:11 Amplified Bible
Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am.
We have all experienced a degree of disappointment in our marriages. Perhaps your marriage is not what you have dreamed it to be. Paul challenges us to be content in whatever state we are in. Contentment is a choice that is sure to build a bridge to a more fulfilling marriage.
Other words for “content” include: happy, satisfied, pleased, comfortable and at ease. Sometimes it’s hard to be content with our situations, ourselves and people around us, but God gives us ways to deal with discontentment.
Praising the Lord and thankfulness can take your focus off your shortcomings very quickly. Focus on God’s goodness, love and provision in your life.
