Disagreements, disappointments and confrontation

Proverbs 12:8
Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Everyone who thinks they’re “winning” an argument, needs to consider how it’s affecting their partner. Think about it —how can it be a winning situation if in order for you to win, your spouse has to lose?
– Dr. Phil on Oprah, September 3, 2002

Every healthy marriage endures disagreements, disappointments and confrontation.  You have a choice whether to let these differences build or break your marriage.  Think before you speak to your spouse and always do so in an honouring and respectful manner.  Consider spending at least a couple of minutes with the Lord before handling conflict in your marriage.
