Hebrews 12:15 Amplified Bible
Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God’s grace (His unmerited favour and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancour, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it.
An angry heart can never experience true emotional intimacy because the wall of hostility keeps their mate from getting too close. The result is a frustrating lonely marriage for both partners.

We have a responsibility to look out for our spouses. If you notice that your spouse is cold toward you or God, make a point of making things right. Do not allow anger and resentment to grow in your heart. Speak about your problems and grow together in the Lord. God wants to use your marriage to get you closer to Him.
